A group of people gathers to reenact an ancient workplace ritual. From fragments of prehistoric conversation, they know “How was your day?” was usually met with “good” or “alright” — except once a year, when someone said: “Today we celebrated Annika.” Through muscle memory and inherited tales, they attempt to reconstruct the celebration as faithfully as they can.
This is a collaborative performance by Ylva Larsson, with Håkan Hermansson, Matilde Øverland and Ayuko Dan.

Forever Firework is a live storytelling piece about childhood, loss, memories and magic. It is a personal memorial of a child around the history of fireworks, invented in the 10th century as Chinese emperors explored the elixir of life through the heating up of heavy metals. It is an explosion of joy, fear and colours.
Yimin Dong (they/them) translate personal experiences, emotions, desires and memories into interactive films, performances and installations.

For the breath cycle to continue, an exhale needs to be followed by an inhale.
But what if there is no inhale? Natalia Kasprzycka’s new video work returns to the origins of concrete — the ancient marine life which continues to feed the construction of our buildings and cities. From limestone to lime, from lime to cement — the continual unlocking of sequestered carbon is unidirectional. A release. An engineered exhale.
Prøverommet has always been a place for unfinished ideas, first attempts and unexpected turns, celebrating works in progress. This autumn, it also celebrates a building in progress.
All Prøverommet events this season are part of BIT’s TESTIVAL, inviting you inside Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus before its official opening in March 2027. Together we’ll test new performances, new rooms and new possibilities, discovering what this house can become before it settles into itself. The Prøverommet events throughout the autumn will unfold in one space after another, slowly unpacking the potential of the building.
It’s a sneak peak. It’s an experiment. It’s Prøverommet.
Because we’re testing, changes and adaptations might be necessary at short notice. It is recommended to reserve tickets well in advance to stay informed.
We at BIT are pleased that our audience consists of diverse people; individuals with different experiences and corresponding unique needs.
Some of our visitors enjoy being surprised, shocked, and challenged, while others may wish to avoid certain content. We invite anyone who wants to know more about one of our events, regardless of what or why, to contact Jay at jay@bitteater.no or by calling +47 55 23 22 35.
