As part of the project Tilgjengelighetsløftet, BIT and Bergen Kjøtt invite you to a feedback workshop at Bergen Kjøtt on December 3rd! The workshop is for people with disabilities or their relatives, and is organised on the UN Day for Persons with Disabilities. After the workshop, there will be a social event to celebrate the UN Day in collaboration with FFO and NHF.
Bergen Internasjonale Teater and Bergen Kjøtt are working to develop a regional network to strengthen accessibility in cultural life, with the goal of better meeting the functional variation that exists among audiences, artists and employees in Vestlandet. The project is called Tilgjengelighetsløftet and is supported by Vestland fylkeskommune and Balansepotten.
Accessibility, and universal design, are necessary for everyone to be able to participate in cultural life on an equal footing. Nevertheless, the topic can seem overwhelming for some cultural institutions. We want to lower that threshold. To do this, we need many different voices, which together can give cultural life a lift in accessibility!
The input from everyone who participates on this day will be used directly in the project’s further work and planning. We want to learn from the experiences and perspectives of people with various disabilities, to find out how cultural organisations can improve. The plan is to organise workshops on accessibility for other cultural organisations in Vestland in 2026.
