What does it mean to fall? And who’s there when you do?

Soft Landing is a physical and sensory dance performance about losing balance – and about being caught. On stage, professional performers and local youth come together in a work by choreographer Roskva Yasmin Andersen, where weight, trust, and community are at the centre.

Falling is something most of us try to hide. We get back up, brush it off, and pretend nothing happened. But what if we didn’t have to? Through movement, sound, and presence, the audience is invited into a living space where falling is not something to overcome, but something to explore. Soft Landing is about surrendering to gravity, about landing, and about the things that can emerge when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable – and trust that someone is there to catch us.

Bio

Roskva Yasmin Andersen is a Bergen-based contemporary dance artist whose work focuses on accessibility, sharing, and community, centering on the meeting point between emotion, body, and scenography. Through dance, she investigates how we relate to our bodies, ourselves, and each other, creating inclusive works that seek to connect with diverse audiences.

She holds a BA in Performing Arts with Pedagogy from the University of Stavanger and has also studied in Amsterdam and Montréal. In 2025, she participated in PAHN’s Norway Now in New York and received the Norwegian Dance Artists’ Professional Grant in Choreography.

Her works have toured across Norway and include the Bergen Internasjonale Teater co-productions Soft Landing (2026), Looking Glass (2023), and Underneath (2018). She also runs the audience-focused festival DanseRom.
