JEG BRAKK is an initiation of something.
Five people burst out of the basics and drag themselves through ‘fake’ natural phenomena – fire and water, night and day, storm and silence. JEG BRAKK is straightforward. It’s about seizing what
is in front of your eyes and cook up something from nothing. The dance performance looks at whether a ‘lassis’, a rascal, carries the possibility of something else. Something wild. Something whole.
There will be a short artist talk after the performance on the 23rd.

Ole Martin Meland is a dancer and choreographer based in Bergen. Meland is educated at
KHiO
(2006), and has been permanently employed as a dancer in Carte Blanche, Norway’s Company for Contemporary Dance since 2006. His choreographic work ranges from projects in the independent field, to commissioned works for companies such as
Iceland
Dance Company, Oslo Danse Ensemble and Carte Blanche. Meland’s language is large and physical, unpolished and direct. The works deal with issues related to destruction versus creation, seeking places where things don’t add up, create their own logic, or shift the way we look at things around us.
