TESTIVAL

September–December 2026

…a special autumn season…

Step into Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus – before it opens

After 18 years without our own theatre, Bergen Internasjonale Teater will move into our brand-new, permanent home in June 2026: Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus.

Even though the official opening of the venue is in March 2027, we’re inviting curious audiences to join us as we test our new facilities this autumn. The artists on the programme are also taking part in this special trial period. With a brand new venue, everyone must be prepared the unexpected – both audiences and artists. Will the lights go out? Are there doors missing? Will an alarm go off?

There’s much to be tested and explored – together we’ll make space for failure and fabulousness!

BIT’s autumn season will be one big TESTIVAL!

The programme for this special autumn season will be released on 20 June.
Tickets will go on sale in August 2026.

About Bergen Internasjonale Teater

Bergen Internasjonale Teater (BIT) was founded in 1984 and has long been an integral part of Bergen’s cultural life.

BIT co-produces and presents Norwegian and international performing arts, and is the organisation behind the performing arts festivals METEOR and Oktoberdans, as well as the artistic testing platform Prøverommet.

For many years, BIT was based in their venue Teatergarasjen. Since the building was demolished in 2008, BIT has, in the absence of its own theatre, presented performances at various venues across the city. In the summer of 2026, BIT will move into its new home: Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus, together with Carte Blanche – Norwegian National Dance Company.
