TESTIVAL

September–December 2026

…a special autumn season…

Step into Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus – before it opens

The programme is launched!

After 18 years without a permanent home, Bergen Internasjonale Teater is finally moving into Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus – Bergens new performing arts hub.

Although the official opening won’t take place until March 2027, we’re inviting curious audiences inside already this autumn. From September to December, we’ll leave the door ajar for a very special season in which new performances, spaces and ways of working will all be put to the test.

This autumn’s programme is one big TESTIVAL – an invitation to experience new performing arts while helping us test an entirely new venue. It’s a unique chance to get an exclusive first look inside Sentralbadet long before its official opening.

Tickets will go on sale later this autumn. In the meantime, explore the programme and find your favourites.

Welcome to the TESTIVAL!

About Bergen Internasjonale Teater

Bergen Internasjonale Teater (BIT) was founded in 1984 and has long been an integral part of Bergen’s cultural life.

BIT co-produces and presents Norwegian and international performing arts, and is the organisation behind the performing arts festivals METEOR and Oktoberdans, as well as the artistic testing platform Prøverommet.

For many years, BIT was based in their venue Teatergarasjen. Since the building was demolished in 2008, BIT has, in the absence of its own theatre, presented performances at various venues across the city. In the summer of 2026, BIT will move into its new home: Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus, together with Carte Blanche – Norwegian National Dance Company.
