DUI). Tonight\u2019s program will consist of three projects: A DINNER &#038; MOVIE, THE CAMPAIGN COLLECTIVE and BILLBOARD, all by and with members of DUI and guests.<\/p><\/div>                            <div class=\"start-2 end-6  start-s-1 end-s-12 grid rg-20 standard acs\"><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A DINNER &amp; MOVIE<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A DINNER &amp; MOVIE is a series of events by DUI, this time organised by Sveinung and Borghild Rudjord Unneland. Visitors are invited to join for a homemade dinner and a movie. The goal is to facilitate collegial and social gatherings. Note: Dinner will be vegan soup with bread. Dairy or meat will be optional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this occasion, the short documentary <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More Bacteria Than I <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2021) by Unni Gjertsen will be screened. The film is about Marit, who lives on a small eco-farm in Sweden where the compost with all its microorganisms form the center of the life cycle and daily life. It shows how Marit regains her health after burnout by altering her living conditions, while also highlighting the possibilities of alternative resource management, ethics, and environmental practices. The film is 30 minutes in Norwegian with English subtitles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>Interior setting by Felix Costain Schou from DUI.<\/i><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BILLBOARD<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BILLBOARD is a project curated and developed by Charlotte Besuijen and DUI. Every two months, a different artist creates a new work for the lightboxes displayed in the public space, outside DUI. The project is also visible on the website, bridging digital and physical spaces and allowing people worldwide to experience the artwork.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This edition, designed by Laura Gaiger and Charlotte Besuijen, reflects their shared interest in collage. It features a black shape derived from a scrap of paper left over after making collages. The background incorporates a painting created with leftover paint from workshops conducted in mental health centres.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n                <div class=\"start-7 end-11  start-s-1 end-s-12 grid rg-20 standard acs\">\n                    <h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THE CAMPAIGN COLLECTIVE<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THE CAMPAIGN COLLECTIVE explores a series of motifs inspired by self-organisation and the artist-run tradition that the unfinished institution is part of. These motifs or images are assembled into a wall collage at DUI. The motifs are created by members of DUI specifically for this occasion, while inviting audience to take part in the process (see below). Gard Frantzsen is the initiator of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We invite participants interested in the theme of self-organisation to a workshop taking place before the event, from 17:30. You will find a separate option for this when reserving tickets. We ask participants to bring a picture, an object, or related concept, which will become part of the collage. The final result will be photographed in high resolution and published on DUI\u2019s website.<\/span><\/p>\n                                    <\/div>\n                                <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n\n\n    <section class=\"text-and-image section-padding-top green\">\n        <div class=\"grid-12 wrapper rg-50 side-padding\">\n            <div class=\"start-1 end-12 start-s-1 end-s-12 grid-12 acs js cg-30 cg-s-0\">\n                <div class=\"text-column start-1 end-5 start-s-1 end-s-12 row-1 row-s-1 grid rg-30 acs js standard\">\n                    \n                    <div class=\"start-1 end-12 grid\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DUI is a studio community, production, and project space for professional artists, housing 13 permanent artists. DUI has shared resources that include an art library, communal kitchen, workshop hall, and project room. The projects presented at Pr\u00f8verommet explore collective creation processes. They are independent cross-disciplinary projects but also crucial for the development of DUI. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the past two years, DUI has employed collective creation processes where members collaborate to develop our physical spaces and surroundings as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">part of the holistic development of DUI<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. How we perceive geography and history is a recurring interest explored through her work. She often uses an ecological and feminist perspective in her practice. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unni Gjertsen&#8217;s work is being shown for this edition of DUI&#8217;s A DINNER &amp; MOVIE series.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"searchHighlight\">Laura Gaiger\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"searchHighlight\">Laura Gaiger<\/span> (b.1992, England) is a visual artist who lives and works in Bergen. She makes paintings and installations to explore narratives around landscapes and their roles in culture and politics.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Gaiger&#8217;s work is being shown for this edition of DUI&#8217;s BILLBOARD project.<\/p>\n<h3>Gard Frantzsen<\/h3>\n<p>Gard Frantzsen\u00a0(b. 1976, Mo i Rana, Norway) is an artist based in Bergen. He has exhibited at venues such as Kristiansand Kunsthall, Podium (Oslo), and Galleri CC (Malm\u00f6). Frantzsen holds an MA in Fine Art from Bergen National Academy of the Arts. He has been a key contributor to project developments of Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo and KMD in Bergen, and has been involved in establishing the artist-run venues WIZARD (Oslo) and Joy Forum (Bergen). Currently, he is a co-founder and member of The Unfinished Institution at Laksev\u00e5g, Bergen.<\/p>\n<p>Frantzsen\u2019s artistic practice focuses on public spaces and what we own collectively as citizens, often materializing through staged processes or societal strategies. His work aims to offer new interpretations of spaces and situations, challenging conventional perspectives. Upcoming projects include exhibitions at After the Butcher, Berlin (2025), and K4, Oslo (2025).<\/p>\n<p>Gard Frantzsen is initiator of THE CAMPAIGN COLLECTIVE for DUI.<\/p>\n<h3>Borghild R. Unneland<\/h3>\n<p>Borghild Rudjord Unneland (b. 1978, Oslo) was educated at the Bergen Academy of the Arts in the department of textiles in 1998-2003. She has had solo exhibitions at Galleri Soft in Oslo, Kristiansand Kunsthall and Tr\u00f8ndelag Center for Contemporary Art, among others. She has participated in several group exhibitions at home and abroad. Unneland has been purchased by the Bergen Art Museum and Bergen municipalities and created several public decorations. She also works with scenography, organizes workshops etc. She teaches art and has held several positions of trust and has been the initiator of several collaborations, including DUI in Bergen.<\/p>\n<p>Borghild Rudjord Unneland works primarily with installations. She has a broad practice that differs both in materials and techniques. The relationship between the thought and the materially present is a core of her works. The contrast is often the starting point for her work. With the help of small and simple tools, she tries to make familiar situations more subtle. The works can be perceived as poems in physical form, where connections that arise can form associative connections \u2013 like stanzas in a poem.<\/p>\n<p>Borghild Rudjord Unneland is co-organising this edition of DUI&#8217;s A DINNER &amp; MOVIE series.<\/p>\n<h3>Sveinung Rudjord Unneland<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sveinung Rudjord Unneland completed his education at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts and the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissense in 2007. Since graduating, he has lived and worked in Bergen and developed an multi disciplinary practice crossing from painting to scenography, to different collaborative projects. From 2012-2018 he was a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen, between 2018-2022 he combined this with the completion of an <a href=\"https:\/\/kmd.uib.no\/no\/kalender\/disputas-og-midtveisevaluering\/sveinung-rudjord-unneland-disputas\">artistic doctorate<\/a>. He has long experience from unions and art organisations such as UKS, BKFH, HKS, BEK, Bergen Assembly, S\u00f8rlandsutstillingen, Vestlandsutstillingen and Statens Arbeidsstipend. He is founder of the artist run space Joy Forum and founding member of the studio collective the unfinished institution. Unneland has presented his work in solo or group exhibitions at venues such as Kristiansand Kunsthall, Galleri 3,14, The Worth Ryder Art Gallery, Aldea, Hordaland Kunstsenter, Kunstnerforbundet, Joy Forum, Kode, Entree, LNM, \u00d8stfold Kunstnersenter, Agder Kunstnersenter among others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is currently preparing group shows at After the Butcher (Berlin) and Capc Mus\u00e9e d&#8217;art contemporain de Bordeaux (France), and a solo show at the National Association for Painters, Norway (LNM). In addition to this he us involved in several independent artistic collaboration and commissioned works.<\/p>\n<p>Sveinung Rudjord Unneland is co-organising this edition of DUI&#8217;s A DINNER &amp; MOVIE series.<\/p>\n<h3>Charlotte Besuijen<\/h3>\n<p>Charlotte Besuijen has a Bachelor in Fine Art from Akademie voor Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving St Joost Breda (NL) and a Masters of Fine Arts from Kunst Musikk og Design in Bergen. In her practice Charlotte combines working with formal processes in the studio with different collaborations. These different processes constantly inspire each other. Collage is a returning motive in her work as well as photography, printmaking, sculpture and drawing.<\/p>\n<p>In her work she wants to make the making process visible and reflect on it. For example by including photographs of her friends and found materials. She is interested in how the artwork is formed in contact with its environment.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the past Charlotte has been a part of<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>group shows at Willem II fabriek Den Bosch (NL), MOM ARTspace in Hamburg (DE) and Kristiansand Kunsthall, among other places.
