It is with enormous pride that we share the news that GRIP \u2013 a joint initiative by us, Bergen Kj\u00f8tt, AKKS, Carte Blanche, sound engineer Irene Bj\u00f8rke and light technician Maja Bergebakken Sundt \u2013 has been awarded the CIMAM Outstanding Museum Practice Award, in competition with national museums from around the globe. This is the first time this award, one of the world’s most prestigious museum awards, has been given to a Norwegian project.<\/p>\n

Eva Rowson from Bergen Kj\u00f8tt went to Italy\u00a0to receive the award: “This is a tremendous recognition of the methods we have developed here in Bergen between our organisations. We have proven that it is possible to change an entire industry in record time.”<\/em><\/p>\n

GRIP was started in 2021 to increase the proportion of female, non-binary and trans sound and light technicians in Norway, and has trained over 250 technicians, 93% of whom are women, non-binary and trans.<\/p>\n
