Bettina Kogler is the new artistic director at BIT Teatergarasjen. Tine Rude is appointed as managing director. <\/h2><\/div>

Bettina Kogler (49) from Austria is the new artistic director at BIT Teatergarasjen. Kogler is an internationally recognised cultural leader who comes from the position as director of Tanzquartier Wien, one of Austria’s most important stages for contemporary performing arts. <\/p><\/div>

Kogler is known for developing artistic visions and programmes characterised by diversity and experimentation – and she emphasises addressing societal challenges through contemporary art. With a large international network, Kogler sees great opportunities to strengthen BIT Teatergarasjen’s role both locally, nationally and internationally. Bettina Kogler: “Jeg er glad og spent p\u00e5 denne nye utfordringen i Bergen. Jeg har alltid sett opp til BIT Teatergarasjen som en av de mest progressive akt\u00f8rene innen samtidsteater og dans i Europa. Jeg tror p\u00e5 betydningen av scenekunst for samfunnet v\u00e5rt, da den gir enorm mulighet til \u00e5 dykke ned i dype kilder av menneskelig kreativitet for \u00e5 konfrontere virkeligheten i n\u00e5tiden og jobbe mot en bedre fremtid.”<\/em> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Over the past few months, the recruitment committee has worked hard to find the right candidates. One of the main focuses has been to look for experience and expertise that can strengthen the organisation internally, as well as prepare BIT for the move to Sentralbadet, which will be completed in 2026. Similarly, it has been a priority to find a leader who can continue BIT Teatergarasjen’s long history with artistic innovation at the forefront. BIT’s chairwoman of the board
\nGunn-Vivian Eide says: “We are impressed by Kogler’s experience and leadership qualities, and we are confident that with her expertise she is the right person to take the theatre forward in an exciting and change-demanding process towards and into the first seasons with Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus.\u2019”<\/em>Kogler will take up the position of artistic director from 1st August, and will work closely with the new administrative leader.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n\n

Tine Rude (49) is the new managing director at BIT Teatergarasjen. With an extensive background in arts, culture and organisational management in the public sector and private organisations, Rude brings with her solid insight and commitment to the performing arts. Rude joins BIT Teatergarasjen from the position of Head of Section at the City Council’s Department of Business, Culture and Sport, Section for Arts and Cultural Development, in Bergen Municipality. She has a background in the performing arts and was previously general manager of Borealis – a festival for experimental music, where she contributed greatly to strengthening the festival’s reputation and reach. Rude thus also has experience of international collaboration and organisational development in addition to good knowledge of the performing arts field, as well as local, national and international supporters and structures.

And with her management experience from strong cultural institutions and cultural organizations, she also has a unique knowledge of and a passionate commitment to the performing arts field.<\/em>, says Gunn-Vivian Eide, chairwoman of the board at BIT Teatergarasjen. Rude will take up the position of managing director at the same time as the new artistic director, Bettina Kogler, on 1st August, and she looks forward to working closely together to realize the theatre’s visions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n
