You will work closely with artistic processes in an international environment and help bring contemporary stage productions to life.<\/p>\n<p>BIT is Norway\u2019s oldest programming theatre and presents contemporary performing arts by local, national and international artists. We challenge the boundaries of what performing arts can be \u2013 and who they can reach \u2013 by being both bold and caring. We are now embarking on a new chapter as we move into Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus in the summer of 2026 and test the venue ahead of the official opening in March 2027.<\/p>\n<h2>About the role<\/h2>\n<p>As a technician, you play a central role in productions. You must be confident in your role as a technician and able to work independently, whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues and visiting productions.<\/p>\n<p>The position is part of the Technical Production Team, led by the Technical Manager.<\/p>\n<p>BIT is a small and flexible organisation, where tasks may overlap. In connection with moving into our own premises, we are expanding our technical staff, and the positions are therefore advertised as project-based roles until 2027 \u2013 with the possibility of an increase in working hours during the period, as well as extension and permanent employment.<\/p>\n<h2>Responsibilities and duties<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Operation, rigging and maintenance of technical equipment<\/li>\n<li>Rigging, programming and running of productions<\/li>\n<li>Conducting rehearsals, performances and events<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out risk assessments and ensuring the safe execution of rigging and events<\/li>\n<li>Tasks relating to AV and stage technology must be expected<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with planning<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with external artists, lighting and sound designers, and technicians<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to structure and good routines within the technical team<\/li>\n<li>Extended responsibility for stages during external hire and festivals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant education from a technical college or university<\/li>\n<li>Documented experience in theatre and dance may compensate for the educational requirement<\/li>\n<li>Specialist expertise in lighting or sound<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with digital sound mixers and matrix systems (sound)<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in GrandMa (lighting)<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of TCP\/IP and computer networks<\/li>\n<li>Experience in reading and understanding technical riders, as well as lighting and sound plots<\/li>\n<li>Experience with basic servicing and maintenance of technical equipment<\/li>\n<li>Good command of Norwegian and English<\/li>\n<li>A Class B driving licence is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Certifications in rigging, HSE or relevant technical systems are an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Personal qualities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Organised and solution-oriented<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships<\/li>\n<li>Good at seeing things through and responsible<\/li>\n<li>Committed to the field and related tasks<\/li>\n<li>Works well with artists, organisers and colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Service-minded and flexible<\/li>\n<li>Thrives in fast-paced environments (e.g. festivals)<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable and confident with physical work<\/li>\n<li>Curious about artistic processes and collaboration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>We offer<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A newly created role in an organisation with high artistic ambitions<\/li>\n<li>A varied working day with a wide range of productions<\/li>\n<li>Collaboration with local and international artists and productions<\/li>\n<li>A dedicated, international and inclusive working environment<\/li>\n<li>Excellent opportunities for professional and personal development<\/li>\n<li>Secure employment conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Practical information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>60% position (possibility of increased working hours)<\/li>\n<li>Project-based position until 31 December 2027 (possibility of permanent employment)<\/li>\n<li>Start date: 1 August 2026 (or by agreement)<\/li>\n<li>Place of work: Bergen<\/li>\n<li>Working languages: Norwegian and English<\/li>\n<li>Evening and weekend work is part of the role<\/li>\n<li>Salary by agreement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.finn.no\/job\/ad\/462380108\">Submit your application and CV via FINN.no.<\/a><br \/>\nYour application should include relevant experience, 2\u20133 productions you have worked on, your role in these, and the technical systems you have experience with.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application deadline: 26 May<\/li>\n<li>Interviews will be held in weeks 25\u201326<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Questions regarding the position can be directed to Technical Manager H\u00e5vard Pedersen<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:havard@bitteater.no\">havard@bitteater.no<\/a> | 99 22 87 76<\/p>\n<p>BIT maintains public lists of applicants.
