Karoline Skuseth has been a part of Bergen Internasjonale Teater since 2011 and leaves a void as she moves on and takes on new challenges.
Karoline has had several roles since she joined BIT. She first joined the company in a project position and in 2012 became a curator with focus on developing our discourse programme. She has been instrumental in making this an increasingly important and larger part of our programme. In 2020, Karoline became part of the then newly established curatorial team, which took overall responsibility during a difficult period in BIT’s history. To the board’s and the rest of the BIT team’s great delight, she agreed to serve as acting Artistic Director for one year from November 2021. She later took on the role of both curator and director of development, where her tasks have included overseeing the process of preparing BIT for its move to Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus.
An important part of the development of both the artistic programme and related discourse activities at BIT has been based on major EU projects. Collaboration and networking with international organisations, and the development and implementation of good projects that are granted support on such a scale, require strong professional anchoring and innovative thinking, something Karoline has contributed to.
Karoline – over the course of 14 years, you have left your mark on BIT and helped to lead the organisation and define where we are today.
We would like to thank our dear colleague for her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
